Restaurant Manager Resume Samples and Writing Tips

Restaurant Manager Normally, restaurant managers are the ones responsible for managing inventory, staffing and supervising just about everything in a restaurant. The resume for this position, is considered as the primary interaction between you and the potential employer. In this case, there are some of the important tips that will help you in writing a good restaurant manager resume. It includes the following:

-Formatting your resume. In this section, you have to format your text for it to look nice. The first thing that is normally seen by the employers is the text. It is important for you to make sure you have a good impression in your resume. We recommend choosing the font size which is professional, typically 11 or 12.

-Set up the page. One page is highly recommended when writing your resume. The line spacing should be 1.5 or 2.

-Create the heading. This section should be at the top of the resume and this gives all of your contact information including your name, email address and cell phone number. The name should be written in a slightly larger size of may be 14 to 16 point font. If you have two numbers, list them all.

-Choose your layout style. Normally, there are 3 general formats for creating a good resume. It includes; functional, chronological and combination. The work history and the type of job you are applying for determines the layout style you should use.

-Mention your work history. In chronological resume, your job should be listed in a chronological order starting with your most recent job position. In addition to this, make sure to include the name of the company you worked for, its location, your duties and responsibilities while you were working there.

-Provide education history. In this section, you have to list all of your education in a chronological order starting with the most recent schooling. Make sure to include any trade schools, college degrees, or any types of apprenticeship you may have participated in. If you graduated with your degree, mention the name of your degree and the year you received it. If you have not graduated, you have to simply state the number of years you have attended your program as well as an expected date of graduation.

  • Make sure to give the university/College name and also the area of study or degree.

-Provide your special skills. Once you are done with listing your most important information, you can choose to list anything that you feel is important. For example, if you are familiar with any special area of work that other applicants may not be able to match, you can mention them. For instance, computer programming skills or fluent in multiple languages can be valuable for a restaurant manager. Ensure you include the level of your expertise here.

-Lastly, provide references. In this case, you should provide 2 to 4 professional references including their names, relationship to you specifically and also their contact information.
